Conservation In Action

Parents as long as Chris and I live, we will be with your kids in sports and school. I love working with youths and feel by working with them I can be a positive influence on them. I dont want them to go astray, get caught up in drugs, get into gang relations or drop out of school.

Parents I know it is not easy to work with kids or youths but you have got to be strong, dont give up on them, listen to them, ask them how you can help, spend time with them, ask them if they have any home-work, go to school and check on them, find out who your kids friends are, Im not saying that your kid will do what they will do, but you will know if that friend or friends wants good for your kid. Parents if you arent there for them who will? I know that I will be there for them as long as I live, I love sports, football, basketball, and track and field was my thing.

Dispense with TV Drug Ads

As many Americans enter rehabilitation centers for prescription drug abuse as for ecstasy, cocaine/crack, methamphetamine, and heroin addictions, according to a recent study from the Partnership for a Drug-Free America. Too many people have dangerously casual attitudes toward legal medications.

For the general public, TV advertising makes use of these drugs seem like an everyday convenience rather than an important decision worthy of serious consideration. Except for New Zealand, no other country in the world allows manufacturers to market prescription drugs directly to consumers.

The dangers are especially worrisome with newer prescription drugs whose long-term side effects may still be in question, hence Representative Henry Waxman's (D-Calif.) legislative effort to restrict TV ads for drugs that have been on the market for less than three years.

The Noxious Fruits of Hate Speech laws

Thobani, a Marxist feminist and multiculturalism activist, had remarked that Americans are "bloodthirsty, vengeful and calling for blood." The Canadian hate-crimes law was created to protect minority groups from hate speech. But in this case, it was invoked to protect Americans.Just like Bush followers who bizarrely think that the limitless presidential powers they're cheering on will only be wielded by political leaders they like, many hate speech law proponents convince themselves that such laws will only be used to punish speech they dislike. That is never how tyrannical government power works.
